The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team defeated Cortland, 5-1, on Jan. 19 to clinch 300 career wins for Head Coach Ed Gosek ’83 M’01. At that point in the season, the win moved Gosek’s career record to 300-88-26 and the Lakers’ season record to 12-3-1.
With a winning percentage of .756, Gosek has the second highest winning percentage of all current Division III coaches, trailing only Tom Coghlin of St. Norbert. Gosek is also the second highest winning Division III ice hockey coach of all time (based on win percentage) behind Coghlin.
Gosek, a former Laker hockey player, has been head coach since 2003. During his tenure, Gosek has had 43 players receive 58 All-SUNYAC honors and 15 players named as All-Americans.
