On Aug. 25, student speaker Olivia Dunn ’17 joined SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley, student emcee Madelyn Muckey ’17, Student Association President Dalton Bisson ’19, and dozens of faculty and staff, in greeting the new first-year and transfer students in the 28th Annual Welcoming Torchlight Ceremony in the Marano Campus Center. “[Being a Laker] is about stepping out of your comfort zone,” Dunn said. “It’s about meeting new people whose stories and backgrounds are different from yours. It’s about joining the clubs you never thought you would, and saying yes to every opportunity thrown your way.”
