The Breakwall

After 130 years of service, the breakwall in Oswego Harbor received a facelift in 2015. The 7,200-foot-long wall, originally built in the 1880s, shields Oswego Harbor from the sometimes des­tructive waves of Lake Ontario. The detached breakwall experienced extensive damage during Hurricane Sandy. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers received $1.3 million in public grants
